Writing Crucible provides two AI drafting tools inside the manuscript editor to help you move forward when writing:
Continue Writing – generates the next portion of text based on your current draft.
Continue Writing with Guidance – lets you provide specific instructions (tone, POV, constraints, beats) before generating text.
These tools are designed to assist your writing process. They never overwrite your work without approval and do not auto-write your book.
How to Access Continue Writing
AI drafting tools are accessed directly from the manuscript editor using the slash command.
Place your cursor where you want the draft to continue.

Draft Preview & Acceptance
When AI text is generated:
The draft is inserted directly into the manuscript
It is visually formatted differently from your existing text
This makes it easy to review before committing
You’ll see a draft action bar with three options:
Accept – keeps the generated text and applies normal formatting
Reject – removes the generated text completely
Redo – regenerates the draft using the same settings
Nothing becomes permanent until you click Accept.
Customizing AI Prompts (Optional)
Advanced users can customize how these tools behave.
Go to Settings → AI Prompts
Choose:
Continue Writing, or
Continue Writing with Guidance
Enable Use my custom prompt
Edit and save your prompt
Your custom prompts apply to future generations.
Tips for Better Results
End your last paragraph with a clear direction before using Continue Writing.
Use Guidance when you need tighter control over voice or pacing.
Be intentional with cursor placement — the AI continues from that exact point.
Always review generated text before accepting.
