Your free trial
New authors get a 14-day free trial of the Professional plan, with every feature, and no card required. While it runs, a banner shows how many days are left.
If you don't choose a plan, your account moves to the Free plan when the trial ends. Nothing is charged, and your writing stays readable and exportable.
To keep your features, choose a plan any time before the trial ends.
Choosing a plan
Click Choose a plan on the trial banner, or any Upgrade button in the app.
The plan page suggests a plan based on the features you've actually used. You can pick any plan.
Choose Monthly or Yearly billing. Yearly gives you 2 months free.
Click Continue to checkout and complete payment with Stripe. You'll come back to Writing Crucible when you're done. Not now leaves without changing anything.
You can also upgrade from Settings → Profile, using the Upgrade Plan button on the Subscription card.
If you came to Writing Crucible through a partner, their discount appears on the plan page and is applied at checkout.
Changing or cancelling a paid plan
Go to Settings → Profile.
On the Subscription card, click Open Customer Portal.
In Stripe's customer portal you can switch plans, switch between monthly and yearly, update your card, see invoices, or cancel.
If your plan was given to you with a code rather than paid for, the card says Your plan was granted to you, so there is nothing to pay or manage here. and has no portal button.
Good to know
Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your plan until then.
Upgrading takes effect immediately; you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the billing period.
Downgrading takes effect immediately; you get a prorated credit toward your next bill.
Choosing a plan during your trial ends the trial and starts your paid plan straight away.
Emails: trial and billing emails can be turned off under Settings → Notifications.
